I just rented and saw Black Hawk Down for the first time today.
The special edition of the movie will be out sometime in the 1st fiscal quarter of 2003 according to my video trade magazine.

what did u think of the movie? i thought it was pretty well done indeed. i read the book, and while there are some differences , it was still great. unfortunately between books and movies, the story is never completely correct. But without them , only the men who fought their would know these things. I purchased the movie already, i may pick up the special edition or whatever they are gonna call it when its out.

Well, my copies of BHD and We Were Soldiers finally arrived yesterday after I sent a inquiry to Amazon on why my order on the 15th hadn't shipped as of March 31. Somehow they got it hung up and it just never shipped so they sent them to me 2nd day air UPS delivery no charge. Got them yesterday afternoon and took some time this morning to watch BHD via the DVD drive on my computer.
Excellent movie as we all know. Towers above the two I recently rented (Thin Red Line and Windtalkers) in story and everyway.
I browsed through the special feature section on the "on set" segment, a sort of behind the scenes look at the making of the movie etc. I'll have to watch it through when I have more time. I was surprised how many of the actors portraying the detal teams and rangers had british accents when talking with the camera in this segment. You'd never know it from hearing them in the film. Interesting to see the actual Ranger and Delta team training the actors went through for their roles. They had to run in the early AM, stayed in barracks, and learned to handle weapons and tactics just like the real rangers and deltas do.
I'll watch WWS either tonight or tomorrow morning.
