Although it's a bit further back than most of the subjects on this forum, I participate in historical reinactments (middle ages) and that's where the real fun is

i was thinking of listing that, i dont know of any in my state that i can think of. im never close enough to any of them to participate. i have seen some websites but most of them were in europe or a few civil war ones , but they still are to far away.

Look at www.sca.org That's the main website for the Society for Creative Anacronism. You should be able to find your local group there.
We stretch from Australia to Russia and Scotland to South Africa, so there should be a group in your city.
