The Mounted Chasseurs of the Guard were one of the most famous regiments of the Napoleonic army, representing light cavalry with the French Imperial Guard. In addition to their normal functions in battle, the regiment provided one of its squadrons through-out as escort to protect the Emperor, as well as taking part in all the Emperor's campaigns.
