The Ju 290 was one of the largest naval observation and transport planes used by the Luftwaffe in World War II. It was developed from the Ju 90 civil transport plane and converted to reconnaissance in 1943. Its main fields of operation were the Atlantic and the Mediterranean and it could be equipped with anti-ship glide bombs.
