Nice, but you have to have extremely deep pockets to buy and build a true jet kit (not a ducted fan). Check out the prices for these kits and used R/C jets: www.bvmjets.com/

yeah i know they are very pricey, but is hella cool, i was thinking more of buying a prop plane kit to save costs, but some of them are almost as expensive. cool though.
none of the good toys are cheap anymore

Some of those "turnkey" used jets run around $28,000! You better have good insurance or a rider on your policy too if one of those ever gets loose at 180MPH it could be bad news. Ducted fan is the cheap way to do jets. It's essentially a propellor in a tube hidden from view. Even prop planes aren't really cheap. If you are just getting started your best bet is to go as cheap as you can and to get a trainer aircraft or a slow flyer. You definitely do not want to start out with a to-scale low-winger. One place I like to drool is www.hobby-lobby.com, that and www.towerhobbies.com. A few other places I like to check out are www.graupner.com and www.robbe.com.
