Just watched my new delivered DVD of "The Dirty Dozen" tonight. Much better than anything on tv tonight.
It had a short featurette about the cast and behind the scenes during the making of the film in England. Ah yes, the 60s, man that was a long time ago already. It was interesting to see the tidbits in this little documentary. The "dozen" along with Marvin walking the streets of London in the down time, the scenes of the military prison some 17 miles NW of London. The small town of Albury where the maneuver scenes were shot. Some 100 military vehicles were used from a holding depot for the film. The Chateau, river, boathouse, etc was built in 4 months about 24 miles north of London and destined to be blown up for the film.
Tomorrow I'll watch my new DVDs of "Top Gun" or "Armageddon."

I watched Top Gun and Armageddon last night. The flight sequences in TG are still the best I've seen. One has to wonder what became of Kelly McGillis after she did Witness with Harrison Ford she vanished. Despite the slack in the action for sex and male bonding scenes TG is still fun to watch.
Armageddon has to be one of the best action flicks around. Once things get rolling its just non-stop to the end. Willis does a good job of playing Harry Stamper not too seriously and not to cocky. The rest of the cast really make the story interesting. 2-1/2 hours well spent.
