I only played the demo of Doom (or what was the game before that?). My old computer just couldn't hack the improvements that they added to the game at that time. I'd have no problem now, but my interest in FPS type games is not very high normally. I have played Half-Life, SWAT 3, and The Thing, but none of the others out there. I did play the demo for Die Hard: Natkitomi Towers, but never played the full game despite the fact that I have it sitting here. I also have Gunman Chronicles sitting here that I have never played. GMC uses the Half-Life game engine.
I've recently re-installed SWAT 3 Tactical Game of the Year version and have been playing those. I'm not big on monsters and magic, so the "real" atmosphere and situations of SWAT 3 has the appeal I'm looking for. Plus, you get penalized if you kill a hostage, so it's not a "kill 'em all" game.
