Apparently someone h4x0r3d the servers at Valve Software and obtained a copy of the HL2 source code directory.

This is big. It's almost as big as someone getting a copy of source to Windows XP or Longhorn beta. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the Falcon 4.0 source code leak. Fortunately for the F4 developers this happened after most folks who wanted F4 had already bought it. This leak happened before Valve's game is even on the shelves...
I suspect Valve is busy rewriting the code so wallhaxors and other miscreants can't use the source to develop cheats and god knows what else. It's going to be a real pain in the arse for them and I bet it's why the release of HL2 was delayed past Sept 30. Personally I hope they find the culprit and send him to live with Bubba for a few years. I was looking forward to this game's release.
