Civilization 4 Review

Oops!!! Guess I didn't save it as I had thought, but am going to give my review of Civilization 4 as nobody else has as of yet.

As with any of Sid Meier's games, a great game. Sid really outdid himself with this one. If it was a movie, and I was to play Siskel and Ebert, I'd give it "two thums up" not only for gameplay and enjoyment, but also for innovation.

Great attention was payed to even the minutest details and many new features. See my other post in the "What are you playing now?" forum for more details and as Art Linkletter would say as he did with the original "Game of Life", "I heartily endorse this game" ;D !!!

i played the demo, i think for it, and had a hell of time doing good. have to check to make sure its the same game. hehe

What can I say?! Three wasn't easy either, but I did/do enjoy it as well. If too easy, any kid would enjoy it, so a game for one who can enjoy difficulty along with all else that is offered !!!

I never played Civilization until I did a beta test for the Conquests expansion. I didn't care for the game myself. I felt it was extremely boring and had a hard time honoring my beta commitment to complete the test. After the beta I uninstalled Conquests and Civ III and have never looked back. I just don't see the appeal of this game.

Well Keith,

It's one of those to each their own scenarios. Much like you like CSCZ, I saw it and couldn't get into that one, paricularly with my eyes.

Much like in what you do enjoy though, it's similar in a way. Long, drawn out, and something to take your time with, much like CB games ;D!!! Being as it's TBS, also great attention to detail also like CBs. So, while you can't, I'm heavily into the type !!! So, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

The problem with Civ is that it's just so dull. It was so mind numbing I was literally falling asleep while attempting to play it. Condition Zero Counter Strike like most first person shooters is a much different genre and not really a apt comparison. Apples and oranges...but I can understand your problem with your eyesight making it hard to play games that require some quick reaction to something happening on the screen.

Indeed they are of different genres. However, the only FPS games I play are my hunting games, which you also take your time with ;D !!! As I said, we'll have to agree to disagree as I don't find it dull. If monuments are all you have left to build in a CB, that's what I call dull. For me CotN was more dull and also when one cannot see everything due to the lousy color-scheme. Matter of preference is all !!!
