I upgraded my video card to an Aurora GeForce2 MX200 AGP 32mb card last week. I can play EAW fine, but it goes crazy when I go to the map/briefing room. This isn't a problem for single missions but it makes careers pretty much impossible. Any tips?

I solved my own problem by searching for a fix. Apparently this problem is specific to GeForce cards. One needn't worry though, because the fix is simple. One simply adds a line to the registry. It fixes the briefing room. www.xmission.com/~mmagleby/eaw/downloads.htmI sure do miss 3dfx problems. I never, ever had problems with my old Voodoo. It's a shame they went out of business. Galland

Apparently there are a great number of problems being caused by Detonator video drivers for nVidia Geforce cards. I've seen dozens of posts on the tech forum for Emperor. It seems that many of the drivers in the 40.00 series aren't very stable. One set appears to be, though, version 40.52. If you are using Detonator drivers check your version number. You may need to change to 40.52, or the newer one 41.09, I think it was.

i dont get to many problems with my gf4 ti-4600.. but sometimes in a new driver release there is a problem. I did like 3dfx cards, but they were not fast enough to keep them. if they did not get greedy they prolly would still be around, when they stopped selling their chips to vendors to make there brand of card, is where i think they really lost the business market.. im glad you got the game working. i have not played it in awhile, but i liked the huge bomber formations in EAW
