www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0804110506/ref=ase_stalag13webpagesi just finished reading this book. it was created with a lot of research and many interviews from german, american, and british , plus other foreign raf pilots and crews. IT goes from the start and finish, primarily of the unit JG26 but does mention sister units and the luftwaffe as a whole during different phases of the war. has some very interesting stuff in, and so blunders, like the luftwaffe raid during battle of the bulge, operation bodenplatte. they had to fly over the V-2 launching base on the way in and the way back, and no-one told the base so they lost quite a few planes to the heavy flak net surrounding the area.

I read this book a few years ago and it is quite excellent and a great resource.
