I downloaded the demo of Rowan's BoB last night. I know it's old but then so is my computer and I'm not getting any younger.
Either I've lost my touch or something's not right because I'm having a heck of a time contolling the aircraft in either Sim or Realistic modes. I usually end up in a diving spin and can't seem to locate the enemy once the action has started. I can make maybe one or two attacks on the bomber stream but can't seem to hit anything either. If I fly for the Germans, in a fighter I can't get close enough to the Spitfires to enage, let alone ID them, or, as a German bomber gunner my plane never seems to get attacked by the Spitfires so it's more a ride along than anything else.
Guess I've been away from flight sims too long.

Gave it another go tonight. I managed to get a better handle on things this time. Not sure what the problem was last night but I had better control of the plane this time around. Managed to down a few DO-17s too using unlimited ammo for the time being, but dogfighting looks near impossible. Enemy fighters move so much faster than my plane for some reason even with my throttle firewalled and they quickly become a indistinguishable blip on the screen.

i got this game at a pc show for 10 bucks , not played it much, i had the same problem using my joystick, the planes are really hard to control. i suggest u give IL-2 a go when u get your new pc. i have seen it for 10-15 bucks and the new one just came out, i dont have it yet but i want to get it. that might be a better one. its hard but not impossible.

I'll definitely be looking at IL-2 when I get things settled down. I'm also going to look at Trainz and the MS Train Simulator, and one or two other highend games.
