Gave my review in the other forum, so now about the game itself and why I'm enjoy it so, and what it includes.
As I said, Sid outdid himself with this one. As with the others in the Civ. Series, this has all the great features and some additions. Better graphics on the play map and now you can see your actual cities and what they contain. Great attention to detail!
As to what else has been added, new units, buildings, technologies, and yes even new wonders. Everything you took for granted in the others, now you have to research and build buildings, units, and/or wonders for. To give you an idea, hunting is now a technology. Your workers can build hunter's cottages and even wineries now. Depending on what resources are near your city, you now build to obtain these resources and not only foods, but luxuries, and minerals. I do hightly recommend getting this game if you haven't thought about it or are "sitting on the fence".
Available in both a multiple CD or single DVD version and as with most games anymore there is a patch out already as well. Enjoy ;D !!!
Sincerely, Phil

I've just started playing the game but for the moment i find it (compared to CIVIII and CIVII) pretty boring...i've build two cities so far and i'll i do is waiting for xtech and xunit to be finished...just pressing turn or enter....
What's so good about the game? What should i be looking forward?
At this time, CIVIII is still way ahead imho...

Beats me. I have Civ III and the expansion I beta tested for it, and didn't find the game that interesting to play. I was pretty well bored with it myself.

The differences are obvious really if you know how to play this version. While my favorite is Civ2, I'll take 4 over 3 anyday. The thing with 4 is most of the cheats have been removed (so you cannot just build setller upon settler) for instance. You have to develop your food-related (growth) technology first and build a granary and/or fishing boat first thing as only then will you get more citizens. You need 3 or more citizens in your city or any "unit" will take forever to finish. All else comes to a halt when builing units while when building buildings not just the construction goes on. They did slow down the progress (more realistic) as many more things can happen in this veerion than the other two had to offer.
Sincerely, Phil

You mean you didn't like neither CIV IV not CIV III? I know you tested conquest. Actually, my fav part are the first two periods...after it gets micromanagement hell.

If it was, you can tell it didn't even impress me enough to get the name right.
