i remember reading reading that quite a lot of these were captured. some used on the russian front, Rommel even got his hands on some. and didn't the marder II use this same gun? my question is, was enough ammunition captured to keep these guns in action for awhile, or did the germans start manufacturing ammo for them? i have not read enough of this part, i know tanks and infantry weapons like the russian submachine guns were used at times. but its a lot easier to capture and transport small arm ammo, than cannon ammo.

Yes it is the same gun just on a different chasis.
During the early days of the Barbarosa the Germans captured huge quantities of material including large numbers of the 76.2mm gun and stocks of ammunition for it. Eventuall, the stocks did run out and the Germans did manufacture their own 76.2mm rounds to keep the guns suppled because they were immensely popular with the AT crews. The German 75mm PaK had similar performance.
Many captured personal weapons were used by both sides of course, but I don't believe the German government sanctioned any official support for them in the way of copies or ammunition.
