This is a pretty hot game topic on the MB I (try to) organize. Anyone playing it here? If so, then seeking players for .pbem. Send up a flare!

This is a pretty hot game topic on the MB I (try to) organize. Anyone playing it here? If so, then seeking players for .pbem. Send up a flare! I know nothing about this game. The gaming world has seemingly moved on to on-line FPS type wargames and I'm not equipped to play those with just a 56K dial up connection. I also don't have the time to play on-line most of the time either. Obviously, this game is not a on-line game of the type I mentioned above. I really haven't heard of this one that I can recall.

I play it now and then. I bought CMBO last year. I'm really not much for turn-based games, but it's one of the few that can hold my attention for any length of time. I like to pit tanks against anti-tank guns and so forth. I find the camera system to be a bit awkward when dealing with uneven terrain. I mostly stick to pooltable surfaces dotted with trees and buildings.

Is Combat Mission one of these Sudden Strike clones?

For those not familiar with Combat Mission you should hop over to the Battlefront site, I think it is www.battlefront.com and look around. It is different than any wargame you have ever played and is just great fun for .pbem. It is NOT a FPS! However, in the "movie" turn replay you can use the 3-D camera and get behind any unit and watch him shoot if you like. Get behind one of your tanks and watch the barrel recoil!

What, you're tired of playing against me, so you are out soliciting other .pbems? Barry

I'm wondering if I tried the demo to this a long time ago. It was a 3D type RTS game and it involved a force of infantry tanks and half tracks trying to take control of a small town from a enemy force.
