This weekend I ordered parts for a new PC from newegg.com. This will be my first time building a system from components. Hopefully everything will go right. Here is what I ordered:
Antec case w/ 350w PSU Abit IC7 i875P Canterwood mobo Intel P4 2.4C retail CPU 512mb DDR400 PC3200LLPT Corsair RAM Samsung 3.5" FDD Windows XP Home OEM CD
I've got a GeForce2 MX200 AGP card and a few Seagate hard drives already. I'm going to save up for a little while longer and buy a nice video card for the rig- a Radeon 9800 non-pro or something like that. I might try to overclock the 2.4C to 3.06ghz, but not until the need ot do it becomes apparent.
My biggest worry right now is FedEx- they are lousy. They've delivered three different things to the wrong address. I'm going to call them up this time and make sure the driver has instructions.

Good luck with the new system. I didn't see anything about a DVD or DVD/CD burner.
I usually prefer UPS over FedEx myself.

I forgot to mention my Lite-On 48x12x48x CD-RW. I haven't seen a need for a DVD capability just yet. If DVD-R media comes down to the pricing of CD-R I'll probably get a new burner. Galland

In fact I just burned my very first CD yesterday just to try it out. I turned my expanded bootleg score of Starship Troopers into a audio CD. Worked perfectly and played fine on my home stereo CD changer. I've got several blank DVD+R and DVD+RW disc here that I'll use for file storage. Can't beat them for raw capacity.
