In the past eight ours I've gotten 59 emails in my Inbox with the SoBig virus attached. I don't have the virus, but this is still very annoying. Those of you who suspect you might have the virus or similar buggers should go to this page and download a free disinfectant program: I don't know why I'm getting so many, but this seems to be par for the course. A lot of folks are getting dozens of these things in their email box. Do NOT open the attachment. It is a bug! Hopefully I don't have to tell anybody on this board that attachments from strangers are a big no-no. But this link is good for those of you who know lesser skilled computer users. vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/Galland

Yea, I posted about the worm in the Software Support section.
I got a virus update early yesterday afternoon. Installed it. Signed off for two hours and when I came back online I had 60 emails all with the same subject titles mentioned in the McAfee alert bulletin I received later that evening.
I had already reported, blocked, and deleted all the messages with my AOL utilities. I never open attachments from strangers or those with pif, or scr extensions.
I thought they were all spams because they all came with repeating subjects and email addresses. Someone that has my email address has gotten himself infected and it started bombarding me trying to propagate itself.
More in the other thread.
