Now is a good time to buy used film equipment made in the late seventies and eighties. I just bought a Minolta SRT201 with two spare lenses, a filter, a flash and a few other odds and ends for $132.00 plus shipping. The SRT201 body alone sold for $300 new back in the late seventies. That's about $750.00 in today's dollars. And this is a nice camera. They just don't build them like this any more. You can tell the camera was built by a skilled human being and not plopped out of an automatic robotic manufacturing machine. I think instead of buying a digital camera I'll just buy a really nice slide/negative scanner and stick to celluloid photography. Galland

its personal preference i suppose, while some of the 35mm and others take awesome pictures, i like the features and ease of picture taking and no development needed for digital cameras. both have a plus minus department.
my friend does photography on a professional level now, and has 5 cameras , 2 of which are digital and a army of lenses, light kits . and 2 video cameras, one digital and one not. he must take 200 pictures a week at least, has some really nice shots he puts into slide shows. lost contact with him though, or i would ask him what cameras he had.
