I was going to post a notice about this when I heard it too, but the wife called me into dinner first. Maybe the Pentagon is doing a bit of re-thinking after losing those Apaches in Iraq. The Commanche has been in development a long time and still hasn't been completed. In another vein, the new Marine 1 helicopter may be a British design instead of a Sikorsky. The Pentagon is still considering the deal.

i guess well see what happens, i mean they have several commanches flying now, just working the bugs and new things into them. although it did take forever to get where it is at. I dont think they would have lost that many apaches in IRAQ i they had bombed the shit out of where many of the AA units were, but since they did not want to kill civilians, they had to run the gauntlet. All in All , i think our troops did a hell of a job.

Yes, well, you don't want to kill Muslim citizens otherwise you risk making all of them your enemy (not that they aren't already.) Maybe flattening Baghdad ala-WW2-style would have made them a little more submissive. It pisses me off when they outright lie to the news about what they say they saw. Exmple: The carbomb the blew up outside the police station where recruits were lined up waiting to get in. The "witnesses" insist it was a missile from a U.S. fighter. Maybe it is time to announce to the fundamentalists that we are a comin' and we are bringin' hell with us.
