I think I would like to buy a CH Products CombatStick. The chproducts web site lists only two retail vendors. Headsets Etc. seems to have the best deal. Are there any other CH Products vendors out there I should look at first before I make a purchase?

I found the FighterStick for sale on newegg.com for $109 and change, with a copy of Il2 Sturmovik tossed in for good measure. I might go for it when my funds are healthier. Galland

I purchased the CH Producst FighterStick USB for $104 plus shipping from newegg.com. It came with a copy of IL-2 Sturmovik. Unfortunately my CD was cracked. It was the strangest thing I've seen in a while- the packaging wasn't even wrinkled. I called CH Products and was directed to call newegg.com to ask for a new CD. Newegg didn't know if they should send a new CD or ask me to send the whole package back to them, so they asked me to wait a few days for a decision. A few days later CH Products sent an email, informing me that they'd send a new IL-2 CD to me if I mailed the broken CD to their HQ in Vista, CA. So now I have a very elaborate joystick and a working copy of IL-2. IMHO the stick is a bit big for my hands and I doubt I'll ever find a good use for all these buttons. But it is nice to have a well made joystick after years of disinterest in the flight simulator gaming scene. My interest in playing the remake of Wing Commander: Privateer is what spurred this purchase, but I've also reinstalled a few games that haven't had a place on my hard drive in years- namely B-17 II and European Air War. I'm still using my MS Flightsitck Pro that I got with my old P2 computer 6 years ago. I don't use a joystick much for anything so it is still in great shape. I hook it up every now and then when I fire up B-17 II here to take my bomber off on another mission. I generally don't fly the plane during the mission, I let the AI handle that, but I will usually take manual control for the landing. The plane will tend to crash if heavily damaged and the AI is controlling it at the landing. I made one MOD for B-17 II, a skin for the Fw-190, for the JG-300 "Wilde Sau" (Wild Boar) geschwader. You can download the skin from the Bombs Away forum: www.bombs-away.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12655&highlight=JG300And I created a "captured" B-17 skin as used by the secret KG200 kampfgeschwader: www.bombs-away.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12642You'll need the special utility program to extract insert new skins into the game, which can be downloaded from one of the links in their forums or one of the other B-17 II boards. BTW, there is a new B-17 sim in the works by Shockwave Productions, Inc..
