i saw jarhead a week ago and thought it was pretty good, however its a slow drama with some comedy in it. there is about as much action as you see in the trailers for it. Its pretty much about being a marine and what that entails to a certain degree. I found it really enjoyable even though many complained. reminded me a lot of the Boys in company C,
I also saw Bravo Two Zero, a british gulf war film, that has a bit of action i caught it on tv one night and then put it in my netflix.
and this weekend i caught Fix Bayonets on tv, a Korean War movie about a platoon fighting a reargaurd action during the long retreat. some of it was mickey mouse but as old as it was i found it enjoyable.

'Ever put your life in a man's hands or asked him to put his life in yours?'
Jarhead is pretty realistic; not that I have been in actual combat or in the desert, but I know that the military is hurry up and wait and you don't get to do the things you want to 'cos there is always some else who wants to do it who is more senior than you ,etc.
As to those idiots in B20, neither Ryan nor McNabb are welcome in certain areas of the Midlands of England. Why is it that every other team that went into the area decided not to deploy on foot, but come back in vehicles?
Can't talk about Fix Bayonets, as I haven't seen it, or if I have it was so memorable that I have forgotten.
