There have been numerous reports from people with Sony computers or Sony CD/DVD drives having problems getting the game to run.
TM staffers contacted Sony and this is the reply that they got back:
"It appears that this users drive is bad or has an anomaly. It would be best to use a different drive. If these problems continue with a different drive, try uninstalling Blindwrite Suite. After uninstalling, make sure that <pcatip.sys> and <pcouffin.sys> have been removed. If not, try to delete them and rebooting. "
