Today, August 5, the 150 ton turret of the Union ship USS Monitor was raised by teams of navy divers that had been attempting to salvage it for weeks. After preservation work is done the turret will be placed in a naval museum for public display.

saw some of that on the news. pretty cool. they say they already raised the engines and a few other parts awhile ago.

It would be interesting to see a replica of the full ship built.
After all it's design revolutionized naval warfare. It would only be fitting.
