For all who are interested and are running Windows XP, Service Pack 3 has now been released. You might get it by auto update but if not you can get it via Windows Update today. While I have it, I'm not saying it is needed at this point nor to get it as I won't suggest doing so until I have tested it for myself. Just passing it along. Enjoy!
Sincerely, Phil

While my testing is not yet done, the first update since installing SP3 has just become available as of today. The May of 2008 Malicious Software Removal Tool may or may not require SP3, so something to now be on the watch for. My Best!

My testing is now completed. I can honestly say that SP3, unlike SP2, seems to be virtually bug-free and safe to install. One (minor) thing I do want to make all aware of. I did notice that once installed, it not only changed some of my settings, but also modified my graphic settings to where all was a bit dark to my linking. However, it also seems nVidia was on top of this as once I installed their newest video drivers, things went back to where they were and should be. If you can deal with "dark" there is virtually no problems. If not, hope your video manufacturers have taken this into account and designed new drivers to account for this. All is good though. Feel free to download and install at your leisure and enjoy!
Sincerely, Phil

I'm still holding off on SP3 for the time being, but the Malicious Software Removal Tool update will run on SP2. I got the update and installed it last week.

Yes, the May Malicious Software Removal Tool will work with or without SP3, much like the new nVidia drivers. The nVidia drivers have built-in customizing for either, so if they are installed prior, one'll have to readjust their video as well as monitor settings if they elect to not install SP3 first as I did have to adjest my monitor settings anyway due to the changes SP3 caused. It's true there is no rush for those who want to wait, but they have been thoroughly tested and verified for those who do want to install SP3.
Sincerely, Phil
